After a steady 2 weeks through christmas and new years, now is the time to take it a bit easier and go out on the slopes for a nice thrill ride!
To know the places that I'll be talking about in this post, check out this map of Glacier Paradise
On that day, I had to work at 14h, so these pictures were all taken between 9h30 and 13h, time when I arrived at work.
First, I get to the underground lift to Sunnegga, to get all the way to the top of the Rothorn (left on the map)
Top of the Rothorn, the backside, you can see the glacier coming down in the the middle
A view from the backside of the Rothorn, where I'm going down
Then, halfway to Gant (view from lower, looking up)
Going up on the otherside, from Gant to Hohtälli
Closer to the Matterhorn, I go up to the border Swiss-Italy (Plateau Rosa). A view of the Zermatt valley
At the border, you can choose between going up in front to Klein Matterhorn (the highest point on the resort, 3883 meters), right to Italy, or left back down to Zermatt.
Since it's 12h (took 2h30 to get there), and I need to get back to the restaurant for 14h, and eat before, I go back down to Zermatt as fast as I can. Here is a view from the top of Plateau Rosa. 3480 meters. You can see it on my watch-altimeter-snowpass!!
18 minutes later, I'm 1300 meters lower, and I still have 600 vertical meters to go down before Furi, to take the lift back to Riffelberg, then Gornergrat, down to Gant, up to Blauherd, and finally, ride all the way to work at the Stübli!
Another good Riding day!

SICK!
Fais attention a toi petit coeur!
