Easter (on the) Island!

Before the two crazy weeks of running around finishing the last classes of my bachelor grad including the Insane Bloc party and the final class day, I took some time off during Easter to go to Vancouver Island, a place I had to visit before going back East...

We started on that thursday afternoon, took the ferry across the Goergia Straight to Victoria, were Eric, Christy and I had a nice Jamaican dinner with Crissy's parents.

On the ferry...

On the Ferry, first Islands

My friends Eric and Christy!!

In Victoria, the Parliament building

3 Friends on Easter (Vancouver) Island

We then went back to Duncan, looking forward to go horse back riding the next day. Unfortunately, very high winds made it impossible to ride...the wind was so hard it brought down trees all over the place, and the ferry stopped going across!

We then went downtown Duncan, also called city of totems, to see the worlds biggest hockey stick! (and puck)

..and Totems!

That easter Friday, Christy's parents invited some family over, and Eric and I put together Eric's (Christy's father is also called Eric) vynil record player, and played some good old beats all night!

Christy's dog, Wiley!

The next day, saturday, we get up early and go horse back riding! Wahou!

My beast Beta!
He's a wise guys, and my age (22!)

Christy and her friend Britney, on their war horses (Beckham and Gus)

Eric and his buddy Blue Boy! haha
(Pam, Christy's mother, in the back)

All the Riders!
Cliché, Eric!!

Chill ride!

After amazing moments where Beta went crazy full speed in the woods up a hill with me trying desperately to hold on, and a few nice Canter moments where it almost went out of control, we fight our way down to Victoria...

...to meet Britney's sister, Ashley

We spent a crazy party night in Victoria, were we met with Eric's friend Raul!

On Ashley's refrigerator, there were funny quotes, including one that I did...center left...

The next morning, we leave super early in direction of Tofino!!

On the way there, a view of the islands that morning

On the way to Tofino, we stop at the craziest trees I've seen in my life, at Cathedral Grove

I had to hug a tree :-)

Nice tree picture

We got  to Tofino, as the sun came out of the clouds...
We went to a surfshop, got equipment and Mark, a local surf teacher. Wasnt my first time on a board, but it always help to have some notions...added to the fact that my foot was still not in shape...
On ChesterMan beach

We stayed at the Tofino Motel, and went out to eat and watch the Canucks game...which we didnt finish, since the power was cut due to bad weather conditions...

Party on the beach with Michèle, Alyssa and her dog

The view from the motel room

We only stayed on sunday...so we had to leave monday morning. We then stopped at longbeach, Tofino, to check out the insane waves!

We took the ferry back that afternoon...

Leaving the Easter (Vancouver) Island behind....

Les arbres à Cathedral Grove sont vraiment impressionnants. De plus, il n'y a jamais de soleil pcque les arbres sont trop grands et immenses.
Tu as semblé avoir du bon temps à cheval. On aurait dû te filmer!
Pour ce qui est du surf, y semblait pas faire chaud.
Fallait que tu ailles sur l'île de Vancouver avant ton retour. C'était un must.
À bientôt.

La dernière photo est vraiment belle. Ça porte à la réflexion.
