10/10/10

...Is the date where against everyone's expectations, I got tattooed!
Here is the breakdown of the steps that I went through in the excrutiating process of getting the 4 elements written permanently in my back.

This tattoo represents the equilibrium of life and without them nothing on earth could remain as it is. Being convinced that these are the elements Man should focus on in order to sustain in future generations, this symbol represents the paths that I'm going to work on preserving in order to leave a positive impact in this world.

It took 3½ hours to complete the task of writting down this amazing Ambigram. The first time I ever saw this symbol was when I read Angels & Demons from Dan Brown. This sign has its origins in the Illuminati, a very undergroung group composed of the most brilliant intellectuals of their time...

Earth - Air - Fire - Water

Try to look at it upside down...

My roommate Roberto, Getting ready for some intense tattooing session

Roberto started by writing down the tattoo on a calc paper, and put it on my skin

Probably the hardest part, the one that hurts the most. Doing the tracing of the whole tattoo, 1½ hours of real hardcore pain

After the contour, I was all stocked about finishing the whole thing. Helped by the fact that my roommate told me that the filling part is much less painful, I went through and decided to complete the task...Almost immediately regreting my decision...

40 min later, the bottom line is done...Water

After something that felt like an lifetime, the famous F was done...

2/3rd of the filling through...Air & Fire

Finally, afer about 3½ hours of intense pain, the final results is quite amazing!

A close up of the design

The tools used to get the ink in...

The big one still has the needles on it (8 in a round), and was used to do the tracing. The small one was used to do the filling with an astonishing 26 needles (2 rows of 13 needles)

After 2 weeks of recovery, the ink is in for good!

The final result!

Oktoberfest 2010!

After my first day as a Financial analyst, I hop on the evening train that took me through a 12 hours journey all the way to Munich, Germany! The train connections were pretty bad and I had to wait for 2 hours (from 23h30 till 1h30) in Heidelberg, somewhere in Germany...

I finally get there at 6h00am, and fight my way to meet my friends Moe and Sena. I sleep about an hour, then we're on our way to Oktoberfest, once again!!

About to get some serious drinking going...

First "Mass" (1 liter) of the day, Prost!

We started the day at 9h50, and the "tents" were already full, so we had to start drinking on the patio outside! Try to find Moe on this picture, Prost my friend!

After many (and very funny) unsuccessful attempts to get in the Tent, we finally got in!!

Now the real party started! Already had about 5 Masses at that point...

Ambiance speaks for itself, Oktoberfest!!!

The next day, we take advantage of the beautiful weather to go out in Munich to once again visit that very nice German city

The City Hall (Rathaus, in German)

German ladies dressed up for Oktoberfest, posing in front of the fountain at Karlsplatz

Awesome times in Munich with good friends!

The train was late, and it took about 8h30 to get back to Morges near Lausanne, where I now live. A few hours sleep remained until my first week at work started...

Ouff! Good times are worth the lack of sleep!

Swede Spot!

Here it is! To wrap up my student era, Nothing better then one last Eurotrip up to Scandinavia to check out what Sweden has to offer! Pretty awesome country indeed, I have nothing but positive things to say about the land of the blond with blue eyes...

I arrive in Stockholm, the Capital, made of what looks like 1000 islands.

I make my way down to Stockholm where I have a nice meal with a friend I met on the plane named Sara Catharina Sofia (every lady in Sweden seem to have a name ending with "a"). I then make my way down to Göteborg with the fast x-2000 train, all the way to the south of Sweden!

Central Station Göteborg!

I then meet with Sandra, a friend I met in Zermatt when I worked there for 2 month back in 2007! (see previous posts) She takes me on a little tour of her beautiful city!

Göteborg from above!

Main street!

We meet with Anders, my good friend who replaced me when I went back to school in mid-season, back in the Zermatt days

Anders and Sandra!

We had an awesome night bar-hopping in Göteborg!

View of the city

I then cross Sweden from west to east to wind up north of Stockholm, in Uppsala!

There, I meet with the awesome Swedish Crew from UBC, Vancouver!
On my short trip to Uppsala, we went to 5 of the 13 Nation's bar/clubs. These places are all reserved for students and very well placed and luxurious in some cases. Makes Uppsala one of the best student city in the World!

The next day, a session of DodgeBall is on plan. Swede Spot team back on track!

Fredrik and Stefan, dressed up as Droogies from Clockwork Orange for their student rally day!

With Mats Volvo, fits perfect going around town!

Getting ready for some "good Old In n Out"

The main church in Uppsala, which was of awesome help when it came to orient yourself going around the city

The canal going through the city

My trip was suppose to end on the monday september 27th, but I met this awesome lady called Johanna, and I had to postpone my stay for a couple more days!

Just a few weeks away from coming back to Uppsala!
Good times up ahead...
